Collaboration with Cornish Poet Clive Blake
Evocative Cornwall is delighted to formally announce our collaboration with Cornish poet, Clive Blake, in the 2018 calendar. When I stumbled across his poem ‘Cornwall Explored’ way back in February, it seemed to sum up perfectly the diversity of this little corner of the world we love so much, and we hope you’ll think so too.
On a wonderfully warm afternoon in May, I had the pleasure of meeting Clive, his wife Stephanie and some very lovely homemade cake! Wonderfully warm could equally describe all three, but I was in no doubt that I would enjoy meeting Clive in person having shared a very pleasant correspondence with him as we discussed working together. It made me wish that all written communication could be with poets, particularly those too polite to point out my spelling mistakes!
Clive’s book, View Points and Points of View, produced with photographer Chris Robbins is an absolute joy, beautiful on so many levels, and can be downloaded free as an app from iTunes: Phoetry1Free. Clive also performs his work live, and you can get a feel for how he makes the ordinary extraordinary if you download the app and scroll down to ‘Cornwall Explored’ where you can hear the Cornish landscape captured in Clive’s inimitable style. Enjoy!
