March .... madness!!
The 2019 calendar is in the shops ready for the Easter visitors - phew! It's not been uneventful. Not only is it an 'early' Easter, but we've been slightly delayed by snow not once, but twice within a month! I know the whole of the country has been suffering under the same conditions, but I think it's understandable if the Cornish were marginally more surprised than other parts. Heavy snow was forecast for the Lizard, and after a perfunctory conversation about how foolish it was to drive towards snow, off I set, secure in the knowledge that it would be 'something and nothing'. How wrong can you be? Later, stuck in Garras and surrounded by bin men having a snow ball fight, I was phoned by a potential new retailer who I greeted with a slightly panicked "Don't try and go through Gweek!". Fortunately, he not only had a good sense of humour (he wasn't stuck in a car for 6 hours!) but also had an eye for an excellent product, and you can now buy our calendars at The Big Pink Tree in Hayle.
We're also delighted to welcome on board Westgate Greetings Cards in Launceston, Enjoy Fowey, and Cards for All Occasions in Camborne, with our cards soon to be available in the Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro and the Cornish Studies Library in Redruth. Other stockists are in the pipeline; more always welcome!
And we've launched 3 new card designs, with more to follow later in the year. Like I said ... phew!
