Evocative Cornwall Christmas card - Walking in the Air, Carnon Valley

A heavy frost has dusted the sparse vegetation along the Carnon Valley with a crisp whiteness.  Although a train pulls across the viaduct, the overall sense is one of perfect stillness, perhaps achieved from the overhead vantage point which suggested the title 'Walking in the Air' and which feels so perfect for a Christmas scene. 

The current viaduct opened in 1933, but the piers of the earlier timber viaduct by Isambard Kingdom Brunel are also clearly visible.

A wonderful image which we are delighted that Chris has allowed us to use.
